The cooperation program for 2018, which includes a variety of projects, including the Intensification of Irrigated Agriculture Project in four North-West governorates (Beja, Bizerte, Jendouba and Siliana), was the focus of a talk held on Friday between Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Zied Laadhari and the World Bank Resident Representative in Tunis Tony Veheijen.

The meeting provided the opportunity to review cooperation between Tunisia and the World Bank in 2017 and discuss the budget support program, in addition to the project to support the education sector to reduce inequalities in access to pre-school education and improvement of learning conditions in primary schools in some regions.

The two parties discussed the pilot project to support the concession for sanitation in the North of Tunis regions and in the south of Tunisia.

During the talk, Ladhari voiced satisfaction at the excellent level of cooperation between Tunisia and the World Bank.

In turn, Veheijen reaffirmed the Bank’s will to continue its support to Tunisia so that it can carry out its development programme successfully.
