Missions
The National Institute of Statistics (INS) is a public non-administrative institution headquartered in Tunis, with six regional offices located in Tunis, Béja, Sousse, Sfax, Kasserine, and Medenine.
Its main missions are:
- Collect, process, analyze and disseminate statistical information in coordination with public institutions.
- Conduct demographic, social and economic censuses and surveys.
- Prepare national accounts and economic monitoring indicators.
- Organize national statistical documentation.
- Ensure technical coordination of public statistical activities.
- Serve as the permanent secretariat of the National Statistics Council.
- Promote and organize international cooperation in the field of statistics.

Missions
The North-West Development Office is a public non-administrative institution headquartered in Siliana. Its area of intervention covers the four governorates of the North-West region: Béja, Jendouba, Le Kef and Siliana. The Office has four Regional Development Directorates (RDDs) distributed among the four governorates of the region.
Its main missions include:
- Collect information, conduct the necessary studies and propose measures likely to assist the competent authorities in defining development policies and public investment programs and projects, promoting private investment in the concerned regions, and monitoring and evaluating the results arising from these policies.
- Assist regional authorities in preparing, implementing and monitoring development plans and programs for each governorate of the region, and help coordinate the interventions of the various stakeholders concerned.
- Ensure the consistency of development plans and programs of the governorates within the region.
- Develop integrated operational plans and programs aimed at promoting the development of areas facing specific issues or development constraints, and oversee their implementation in coordination with the competent national and regional structures.
- Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of operational plans and programs intended to promote and develop private investment in the concerned regions throughout the various stages of their implementation, in close coordination with technical structures, competent regional services and local public authorities.
- Support the activities of competent regional structures and local public authorities in the field of private investment promotion.

- Identify the needs of foreign countries, organizations, and international institutions in Tunisian skills and expertise.

Responsibilities
The Institute is an economic, social, and competitiveness studies center.
Its main responsibilities include:
- Monitor, analyze, and forecast the competitiveness of the Tunisian economy and its determinants at the product, macroeconomic, sectoral, and regional levels, and conduct research on enterprise competitiveness and the business environment.
- Conduct economic and social studies, particularly on development prospects, development issues included in development plans, and the impact of economic and social policies and reforms on achieving development objectives, especially in the fields of knowledge economy, integration, financial policies, social transformations, and human resources.
- Develop information systems, modernize working tools, and provide the technical and software resources needed for data analysis and production, in order to support the expansion and diversification of study activities related to data availability, accessibility, storage, and use.
- Develop methods, indicators, databases, and models necessary for conducting studies.
- Carry out economic and social studies for public and private institutions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop cooperation, exchange, and partnership relations with similar research and study centers as well as with national and international specialized institutions.
- Supervise researchers and research work in partnership with academic institutions within the Institute’s fields of competence.
Tunisian Investment Authority
Tunisian Investment Authority (TIA)
Responsibilities
The Tunisian Investment Authority (TIA) is a public body with legal personality and administrative and financial autonomy. Its headquarters are located in Tunis. It was established in 2017 as part of the implementation of the investment law.
The Authority is responsible for facilitating procedures for Tunisian and foreign investors for investment projects exceeding 15 million Tunisian dinars, as well as for projects of national importance.
It acts as the single point of contact for Tunisian and foreign investors and plays, in cooperation with its partners, a central role in project implementation by providing necessary information, facilitating procedures, and ensuring required support.
Its main responsibilities include:
- Inform investors about the legal and institutional investment framework.
- Provide advice and support to investors throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders and competent institutions to facilitate the creation and implementation of investment projects.
- Provide personalized support to investors.
- Support investors in expansion and development projects (aftercare).
The Tunisian Investment Authority also chairs the National Commission responsible for granting subsidies and financial incentives, which reviews applications for projects exceeding 15 million Tunisian dinars as well as projects of national importance.
It also serves as the permanent secretariat of the Higher Investment Council, established by Law No. 71 of 2016 and chaired by the Government.
The Authority provides all its services remotely through the investment electronic portal.
