The Minister of Economy and Planning, Mr. Samir Abdelhafidh, presided over the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of the international aerospace industry forum, Aerospace Meetings Tunisia, on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
The forum, organized through a partnership between the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia), the Groupement des Industries Tunisiennes Aéronautiques et Spatiales (GITAS), and ABE – Advanced Business Events, an international company specializing in organizing business conventions and trade events, brought together numerous participants from Tunisia and abroad, representing leading global companies operating in the fields of civil and military aerospace components as well as the space industry.
The fifth edition of the forum provides an opportunity to showcase Tunisia’s strengths and promising prospects in the aerospace sector, with a view to further accelerating its development. It reflects the strong momentum the industry has experienced in recent years, positioning Tunisia as an emerging destination for high-precision aerospace manufacturing and as a strategic regional hub for production, supply, and integration into global value chains.
Through its panel discussions and thematic sessions, the forum also offers a platform to address the rapid technological developments shaping the industry and the challenges it faces, particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability, digital security, and cybersecurity. In addition, the event features Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between international companies and their counterparts operating in Tunisia to explore new opportunities for investment, partnership, and business cooperation.
On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Mr. Samir Abdelhafidh visited the exhibition held as part of the forum. He toured the various exhibition areas and met with participating companies, several of which represent successful examples of foreign investment in Tunisia’s aerospace industry.
It is worth noting that 85 foreign companies are currently operating in Tunisia’s aerospace components industry. Together, they employ more than 20,000 people and export their entire production to the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.
